The measurements of your space will dictate how large your machines can be and which way the doors should open for an ideal arrangement. Side-by-side machines are the best washers and dryers if you have a decent amount of space and enjoy having storage above your units. They are also the easiest option to install. Stacked laundry appliances, on the other hand, are more complicated to install but save space on the floor and reduce the amount of bending over you must do to complete a load. There are also washer dryer combos that accomplish both tasks if you have very limited space.
